The new Union Customs Code (UCC) has been announced. It was published in the Official Journal of the Union on 10 October 2013, thus completing an important step towards a new European customs law.
However, until the implementing provisions for the new Union Customs Code have been adopted, the Union Customs Code cannot yet enter into full force. The UCC will only enter into force once these have been enacted. According to Art. 288 UZK, this is scheduled for 1 June 2016.
