With effect from 23.04.2014, the European Union (EU) has reduced and partially abolished customs duties on imports of goods originating in Ukraine (UA). This preferential treatment is granted unilaterally (autonomously) by the EU, thus anticipating the entry into force of the Association Agreement already initialled.
The granting of a preferential rate of duty requires the presentation of a movement certificate EUR.1 or a declaration of origin on the invoice and proof of direct transport.
The preferential measures will apply until 1 November 2014 at the latest. 374/2014 thousand. However, some of the code numbers do not correspond to the current Harmonised System (HS).
In addition, Ukraine continues to benefit from the Generalised System of Preferences (GSP). In this respect, Ukraine currently enjoys two different unilateral preferential arrangements.
Our lawyers, experienced in preferential law, advise clients on an ongoing basis on the import of preferential goods.
