Important topics in maritime law

For many years O&W has been assisting enterprises in the field of maritime law. This is a selection of our present projects and those of the past:

• Bunker disputes

  O&W has been assisting an important German ship bunker supplier for his claim for sales prices against the ordering party and the vessel/the charterer and concerning the possibilities of an arrest. In other proceedings O&W has been representing purchasers of bunker supplies after the bunker supplier was inable to pay.

• Collision of a ferry with a lighthouse

  For recourse proceedings O&W gave advice to the hull underwriters of a vessel. The recourse was against the crew of a ferry after the latter crashed into a lighthouse in Danish territorial waters. The lighthouse and the vessel were heavily damaged.

• Working hours in offshore projects

  O&W supported an important and globally successful enterprise for offshore exploration in questions of working hours in the offshore field and especially concerning the applicability of provisions of the offshore rules on working hours.
