Additional demands by customs are often annoying and regularly hit the companies unprepared. Dr. Tristan Wegner has written an article in the December issue of the magazine Zoll.export on how to proceed when customs makes additional demands on companies. The article“Additional Customs Payments – What to do if Customs subsequently demands money” sets out the prerequisites for retrospective accounting and defence options against these. The magazine also contains a checklist so that companies can quickly check whether there is a realistic chance of defending themselves against the additional claim.
