With effect from 7 March 2018, the European Commission has extended the existing anti-dumping measures on seamless stainless steel tubes and hot-rolled iron flat products from China by 5 years. Anti-dumping duties range from 48.3% to 71.9%.
The anti-dumping duties were already introduced on the market in 2011 and extended after review in 2016 as it was found that the designated pipes had been offered on the market at dumping prices, under which French, Swedish and Spanish producers suffered and were placed at a disadvantage. This mainly affects stainless steel pipes used in the chemical and petrochemical industries.
Undertakings rejected
However, the implementing Regulation (EU) 2018/351, the purpose of which was to extend the measures, rejected offers of price undertakings introduced by the implementing Regulation (EU) 2017/1795 concerning hot-rolled flat products of iron, non-alloy steel or other alloyed steel from certain producers in Brazil, Ukraine, Russia or Iran.
