Anti-dumping duties on aspartame imported from China, lifted on screws

Implementing Regulation (EU) 2016/262 imposes a provisional anti-dumping duty on imports of Aspartame (N-L-α-aspartyl-L-phenylalanine-1-methyl ester, 3-amino-N-(α-carboxy-phenethyl)-succinamic acid N-methyl ester), CAS number 22839-47-0, originating in the People’s Republic of China. The goods are currently classified under CN code ex 2924 29 98 (TARIC code 2924299805). The rate of the anti-dumping duty varies between producers from 55,4-59,4 %.

The provisional anti-dumping duty was imposed for a period of six months. Subsequently, a definitive anti-dumping duty may be imposed. Interested parties have the opportunity to participate in the investigation procedure.

Repeal of anti-dumping duty on iron or steel fasteners

By contrast, the implementing Regulation (EU) 2016/278 abolished the definitive anti-dumping duty on imports of certain fasteners of iron or steel, in particular screws of heading 7318, originating in China and consigned from Malaysia.
